Do somethin' strange for some change
Round The Bin Track “Sports” FUCK DOUCHE BAGS AND JOCKS
The eclectic group Round the Bin is set to release their second album DSDO June 15th. Giving a new meaning to confessional music, frontman Ricky Galvan strays away from the sound of the first EP “Same Insanity” yet stays true to Round the Bin’s tone.
-How does the first EP “Same Insanity” & the new full length album “DSDO” differ?
Rick: “I feel like DSDO is a lot more upbeat and abstract. It comes from a different angle than “Same Insanity” does.
-Which location from today’s photo shoot do you feel most impacted your life?
Rick: “Definitely by my grandma’s old house [near the church]. It makes realize where i stand.
Cj: Rhino Records. That atmosphere makes me want to write music.
-What does “DSDO” mean?
Rick: Doomed since day one. Meaning life’s hard, get used to it. [laughs]
Cj: Yeah, you’re born into a hard life. Some people get through it and some people don’t.
-Did you learn any new techniques for this album?
Cj: We actually took our time on DSDO, we experimented a lot more and we were organized.
Rick: DSDO is diverse. It has a lot more flows and the production style is different. It’s like each song sounds like its from a different group.
-Any ideas for the next album?
Rick: We’re getting out of our comfort zone a little. It’s a completely different style… [pauses] we don’t want to give too much away. [long pause] There’s a difference between making music and changing music.
-How connected are you to your fans?
Rick: [laughs] We know most of them personally. I wouldn’t be as motivated to make this album if I didn’t get as much feedback as I did on Same Insanity.
-Which lyric means the most to you on DSDO? Why?
Rick: “The job market is like bunch of bears around a beehive. Where honey is money so everybody makes a B line.” Every young adult can relate to that line.
Cj: “We’re all alone here. No one to guide us.” I feel like even though you have friends & family you have to do most things on your own.
